Kalki 2898 AD : Christopher Nolan brother Jonathan praises Indian Filmmakers

Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, is one of 2024’s most anticipated films. Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, has offered some advice to the filmmakers.

Prabhas’s Kalki  is certainly one of 2024’s most awaited projects. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, is regarded as a shapeshifter in Indian cinema and one of the most ambitious projects ever produced.

In a recent update, acclaimed scriptwriter Jonathan Nolan, who is also the brother of Oscar-winning director Sir Christopher Nolan, offered some critical advise with the makers of Kaki makers.

During an exclusive interview with ETimes, the interviewer inquired about how to nail a good sci-fi genre film as we have Kalki  for this year, Jonathan Nolan shared his thoughts on the same.

In respond to the inquiry, Jonathan stated, “Oh wow, I don’t think I have a lot of wonderful advice for these extraordinary filmmakers. I believe Bollywood shoots almost as much as Hollywood does nowadays.”

He went on to say that one of his favorite aspects of Indian films is their emphasis on on-location photography and stunt work, which he finds admirable.

Nolan stated that he does not have much to give filmmakers in India because he already admires their work.

The filmmaker went on to say, “But I believe that world-building stems from playfulness.” He went on to say, “One of the reasons why some of the projects that we work on are in that space of science fiction is the fun and thrill of getting a chance to talk a litte bit about how the world, what it might become and what you think it should become in some cases.”

Jonathan Nolan is gearing up for the release of  action thriller Fallout .The film explores the aftermath of a cataclysmic nuclear exchange in an alternate Earth history in which developments in nuclear technology after WWII triggered a subsequent resource war.

The sitcom is inspired on Interplay Productions’ blockbuster video game Fallout, which debuted in 1997.
