Guntur Kaaram’s Genuine Movie Review

For fans of Telugu cinema, the Sankranti festival is especially significant since it provides the joy of seeing big-budget film releases on this joyous occasion. Audiences are preparing for the celebration of new film releases with an extended weekend off. Guntur Karam’s movie directed by Trivikram Srinivas starring Mahesh Babu was also released with a lot of expectations. Not only that. The movie team hyped the film a little bit too much.

Moreover, Guntur Karam was the first choice for every Mahesh Babu fan. This highly hyped movie was released today. And has this movie lived up to expectations and kept the director’s and producers’ faith? Now, let’s look at this review.

Story:

Ramana (Mahesh Babu) is the son of Vasundhara (Ramya Krishna) and Satyam (Jayaram). Their pepper warehouse in Guntur was burned down, and Satyam goes to jail for murder. Vasundhara leaves everyone and goes to her father, politician Venkata Swamy (Prakash Raj). There, she remarries Narayana (Rao Ramesh) and becomes the Minister of State.

But when Ramana grows up, his grandfather, Venkata Swami, calls him to come to Hyderabad to sign a paper. Signing that paper will break the mother-son relationship between Ramana and Vasundhara. But Ramana does not want to sign it. Why did Ramana refuse to sign the documents? What happens if he signs the documents? Why did Vasundara leave Ramana? What happens to a mother and son? The rest is a story.

Analysis:
In a recent interview, Guntur Karam producer Naga Vamsi said, “I have complete faith in Guntur Karam’s movie. He gave a statement saying that no review can do that.
After this, Dil Raju, named after him, is the next best choice for Sankranthi films.

Above all, the magical combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram and their previous collaborations, Athudu and Khaleja, raised the bar high for Guntur Karam. Because of this, the Guntur Karam movie got unprecedented hype, which had consequences for the result. The film would have been at least average if none of these were there.

The movie started well. Hero introduction… Mahesh’s destruction near the party office is all connected. The film is believed to be in the same form as before. But the first one was pulled by saying signatures on the papers. For that, the hero is seen in the first half of Guntur-Hyderabad driving a jeep, getting into petty, meaningless fights, and leaving without signing. If you look like this… If you do something about that sign, you will feel that the hero’s movement between Guntur and Hyderabad will decrease.
First off, it starts interesting but ends dull. The story didn’t pick up the pace even in the second half. It doesn’t. There is a feeling of lag as the scenes keep coming out of sync. But Hari Das gets picked up from the fight. Even the climax seems okay.

Even the story and screenplay lacks director’s marks. Trivikram has not performed his responsibility correctly as a magician of words. There is no single dialogue about Guruji’s mark in the film. If we have to talk about plus in the movie, it is only Mahesh Babu’s one-man show .

Mahesh danced and fought with ease. If Guntur Karam has brought good collections at the box office, it can be said that it is only because of Mahesh. At the same time, trolls may also come in Trivikram’s direction.

Apart from Mahesh Babu, Sree  Leela did well within the limited screen space; her dance is impressive. There is nothing to say about Meenakshi Chaudhary’s character. Prakash Raj, Ramyakrushna, and Jayaram seemed fine. Sunil failed to impress with his performances.

Thaman’s background music is good. But, in some places, the same background music is boring. The two songs, Mawa Entaina and Satya Phetya are pretty good. Camera performance is also good.

Guntur Kaaram is burdened with unnecessary scenes which resulted in dull execution. The underutilization of talented actors, including Meenakshii Chaudhary, Rahul Ravindran, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, and Jayaram, adds to the film’s shortcomings.

Plus points
Mahesh Babu’s screen presence, action sequences and songs

Minus points
Directed by Trivikram
