Box Office 2024
Indian films started well at the box office in 2024, as three are among the top 10 highest-grossing titles worldwide this year. It’s been only one month, but every movie industry has had significant box office releases. Let us see which one emerged as the highest-grossed film in January.
Director Prasanth Varma’s superhero film Hanuman emerged as a massive blockbuster with a worldwide gross collection of around 265 crores in 20 days. In its first week (7 days), Fighter grossed approximately 241 crores worldwide, including 169 crores domestically and an estimated 72 crores at the overseas box office. It is the 7th highest-grossing film worldwide of 2024 so far.
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s action drama Guntur Kaaram is another Indian film in the global top 10 in January 2024. The movie, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, has grossed around 177 crores in 20 days, including 146 crores in India and approximately 31 crores overseas. It is the 9th biggest grosser worldwide of January 2024.
Hanuman is the 5th highest-grossing film globally in January 2024, followed by Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter. Siddharth Anand’s directorial aerial action thriller was one of the most-awaited films. However, it has underperformed, given its size and scale.
