Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated flick Family Star is set to be released on April 5. The film has already sparked excitement on social media, as it stars the newest Telugu talent Mrunal Thakur opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
The censor board has issued the film a U/A certificate after flagging some of the obscene words used in the Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur starrer.
According to Hindustan Times, the film received a U/A certificate following a screening of the family drama in Hyderabad. Furthermore, the members of the censor board did not like the film’s profane phrases and opted to edit them out before certification.
According to speculations, the film’s sequence set in the United States had the most of the cuss words. As it is a family-based drama film, the censor board members requested that some foul words be removed from the closing segment.

Meanwhile, a viral claim states that five swear words, coupled with excessive alcohol use, have been eliminated from the final cut.
The chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur is already making ripples. Fans are intrigued and eagerly await the debut of a Telugu romantic comedy film. Parasuram directed the film, which has already generated a lot of excitement.
According to OTT Play, the movie’s rights have been sold to Netflix. Furthermore, it is believed that the streaming giant purchased Family Star’s OTT rights for Rs 16 crores. However, a formal notification on the matter is pending.
If the claim is genuine, Family Star will be available on Netflix two months following its theatrical debut. Since the film will be released on April 5, it is expected to be available on OTT in June 2024.
