The chairman of Disney Experiences celebrated the “all-new Avatar adventures” that would be possible with Disneyland Forward’s permission.
Disney released concept art for its proposed Avatar land in California’s Disneyland during the company’s shareholder webcast on Wednesday, hailing it as “inspirational art” that is “only just the beginning.”
The artwork, which was later shared on the Disney Parks Blog, depicts an outdoor lake with tourists standing on the shoreline, surrounded by boats and a massive waterfall.
Fictional Pandora creatures surround the humans, and a large protrusion of rocks frames the lake in a picture reminiscent of James Cameron’s planet.
The area also resembles Disney World’s Pandora: The World of Avatar, which debuted in Florida’s Animal Kingdom in 2017.

“We were thrilled to unveil a piece of inspirational artwork developed for a potential new Avatar experience at the Disneyland Resort,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences.
“We are excited about the stories our guests will be able to experience at Walt’s original theme park destination now that Disneyland Forward has been approved, including the opportunity to embark on all-new Avatar adventures with a visit to Pandora.”

Last Monday, the Anaheim City Planning Commission approved forwarding Disney’s DisneylandForward plan to the City Council. The idea, which is part of Disney’s $60 billion global theme park expansion plan, would change the flagship park by expanding it significantly and adding mixed-use attractions.
Avatar is an American media franchise created by James Cameron, which consists of a planned series of epic science fiction films produced by Lightstorm Entertainment and distributed by 20th Century Studios, as well as associated merchandise, video games and theme park attractions.
