Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a name that immediately branches a deep sense of respect and sadness in our hearts almost instantly. Respect, because this man has played roles and given us masterpieces that give us goosebumps every time we watch it. Sadness, because to date, he hasn’t been given enough recognition for his rigorous skills and overflowing talent.

Aged 48, his career took off with Gangs of Wasseypur, The Lunchbox, Raman Raghav 2.0, and Manto. Later, he was also seen in Kahani and Sacred Games. There’s so much more he’s given to Bollywood Cinema that has gone unnoticed.

In the latest interview… Nawazuddin finally broke out of the silence and voiced crucial topics that were bothersome in his life.

He starts from rock bottom, stating when he expressed his dream to become an actor to his family, they instantly demoralized him by mocking his physical appearance. Then when he came to Mumbai, assistants would eye him from head to toe when he’d say he was an actor, saying, “You don’t look like one” for 10 long years. Gangs of Wasseypur, as he mentions, was the turning point in his career where he went from tiny scenes in a huge movie to a lead role throughout.

The anchor gave us a sneak peek into this year’s recurrent releases from Nawaz. With 6 movies coming this year, he admits that it’s an excruciatingly overwhelming process to switch from one role to another. It’s essential for him to take some gap, disconnect then absorb the personality of another role.

There’s more he has discussed in this 25-minute interview, disclosing a lot of insightful information that’ll make us wonder.

His upcoming film Afwaah is a very special release that all his fans are excited about.
