With her recent film, The Archies, which is now available on Netflix, Zoya Akhtar introduced a new generation of starlets to the industry. Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor play the iconic roles of Veronica and Betty in this film adaptation of the popular comic book. Manoj Bajpayee, the actor, recently shared his thoughts on seeing the film with his daughter, Ava.
“My daughter was watching The Archies, and I told her, ‘I am not liking it.'” She said, ‘Okay,’ and I had already watched it for 50 minutes. Archies was not a part of my childhood. Motu Patlu and Ram Balram were two of my childhood heroes. I think I only read one Archies book, but I remember Veronica and Betty. But she didn’t like it either.”
He went on to say that he then suggested to his daughter that she learn to speak Hindi, citing The Archies as an example because even the characters in the film speak Hindi. Ava, on the other hand, responded, “What is your problem, dad?” Please allow me to watch the movie.”
