Korean and U.S content dominates streaming consumption across most of Asia- the Pacific

Korean content commands a 40 per cent share of SVOD viewership in Asia’s most important growth markets, not including China and India. Film and TV content originating from the U.S. and Korea remain two pillars of subscription video consumption. According to media partners Asia U.S. took 30 % and Korea took 40 % of total viewership in the region.

According to a report US originals on Netflix are increasingly launched with Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, and Tagalog dubs, expanding their reach in Asia. While Disney taps into Marvel, star wars, and family franchise fan base. Amazon Prime Video is also increasingly launching major shows like Citadel, The Boys, and Hunters with all Asian languages dubs.

Licensed titles from Warner Bro Discovery [Friends], Sony [Venom, Spiderman], Paramount [Big bang theory], and HBO drama [House of the Dragons, The Last of Us] contributed material viewerships on Netflix.
