Four K-Pop Girl Groups Announced Their Disbandment

The K-pop industry has been in a state of chaos lately, particularly due to the ongoing feud between HYBE Labels and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Amidst this turmoil, several girl groups have made announcements about their disbandment, with some of these announcements coming as more surprising than others.

Cherry Bullet disband

FNC Entertainment startled fans on April 22 with the sudden announcement of Cherry Bullet’s disbandment. Four members—Haeyoon, Jiwon, Remi, and May—opted to terminate their contracts, while the remaining three—Yuju, Bora, and Chaerin—chose to stay with the label for solo pursuits. The news left many fans reeling from the unexpected turn of events.

Hello this is FNC Entertainment. First, we would like to thank everyone who has loved and supported Cherry Bullet. We are here to you inform you about future activities for the group.

After long discussion, the agency and Cherry Bullet, we have decided to officially end activities. While Haeyoon, Jiwon, Remi, and May have ended their contracts, members Yuju, Bora, and Chaerin will stay with FNC Entertainment and continue solo activities.

We apologize for the sudden news to the fans who have supported Cherry Bullet. Will always remember the love and support you have given the members. We hope you continue supporting the members in starting a new path. Thank you.

Kep1er Disband

Although Kep1er was initially conceived as a temporary girl group, the revelation of their official disbandment date saddened their fans nonetheless. Despite some hopes for a contract extension, the group’s disbandment is proceeding as scheduled. According to an exclusive report from Star News, the members are set to return to their respective agencies in July 2024, with plans for a final comeback and concert before parting ways.

ALICE Disband

Just recently, ALICE’s Sohee made a surprising announcement that she would be marrying her boyfriend, a businessman 15 years her senior, and retiring from the entertainment industry. While this news does not confirm ALICE’s disbandment, it raises concerns, particularly since their last comeback album, “Show Down,” was released a year ago, with minimal activity from the members since then. Sohee’s departure is particularly impactful as she is arguably the group’s most prominent member.

K-Pop Group NATURE Disbanded

In another disheartening development, n.CH Entertainment’s girl group NATURE revealed their disbandment yesterday. Fans had long been apprehensive about the group’s future, and unfortunately, their fears were realized with Haru’s disclosure that she had transitioned into a different career as a hostess, prompting the official announcement from their label.
