Kangana Reacts On Shabana Azmi’s Tweet

The Kerala Story is the most controversial movie in recent times. Starting from the release of its teaser the rise of controversies and protests for the ban took place. This Malayalam movie is again in the news with the tweet made by Bollywood’s controversial queen Kangana Ranaut

Shabana Azmi made a tweet on Saturday and reprimanded the people opposing ‘The Kerala Story’. She wrote, “Those who speak of banning #The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s #Laal Singh Chaadha. Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification nobody has the right to become an extra-constitutional authority.”

Kangana Ranaut supported Shabana Azmi. But along with this, she said there is a slight difference between the controversy of ‘The Kerala Story’ and ‘Lal Singh Chadha’. She wrote, “This is a very valid point except for the fact that no one asked for a ban on LSC people just didn’t want to see it for many reasons, the major reason was it was a remake of a very popular old Hollywood classic which most people had already seen ….” in her tweet.

In the teaser, it was claimed that 32,000 girls in Kerala were forced to convert to Islam by disappearing and then made ISIS terrorists. Those protesting are calling it a propaganda film and accusing it of tarnishing the image of Kerala. The screening of the film has been stopped in several districts of Kerala. The screening has been stopped in Tamil Nadu two days after its release. The West Bengal government banned it in the state.

Despite massive protests, ‘The Kerala Story’ is doing exceptionally well at the box office. The film has earned Rs 35.25 crore in three days. The film collected 8.03 crores on the first day, 11.22 crores on the second day and 16 crores on the third day.
