Despite many controversies, the movie ‘The Kerala Story’ is earning better day by day. On the third day of its release, it earned better than the first 2 days at the box office.
The story of the film is that 32,000 women were converted to Islam in Kerala and recruited into the notorious Islamic extremist organization ‘ISIS’ and used for terrorist acts. There was huge opposition to this movie and it was complained that Kerala was smeared by this movie. But the Kerala High Court refused to stay the show.
Even so, the movie that was released on May 5 was Rs 35 crore. Earnings are an indication that people are attracted to the film. Even though it was a working day on Monday, people went out and watched the movie, 15 Crores. Analysts described the gains as significant. The film collected 8.03 crores on the first day, 11.22 crores on the second day and 16 crores on the third day.
This movie is directed by Sudipto Sen and stars Adah Sharma and Yogita Bihani in lead roles. The film also got tax exemption in Madhya Pradesh. The film has also been appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. But the film has been banned only in West Bengal ruled by Mamata Banerjee.
