Superstar Rajinikanth’s renown stems not only from his captivating presence on screen but also from his genuine modesty off-screen. A recent illustration of this was shared by Jackie Shroff, who collaborates with Rajinikanth in the forthcoming movie “Jailer.”
Reflecting on his experiences during the filming of “Jailer,” Shroff recounted an incident where Rajinikanth recognized that he hadn’t exchanged pleasantries with Shroff upon leaving the set. Despite a sizable crowd, Rajinikanth returned from his car solely to bid farewell to Shroff.
During a conversation with Film Companion, Shroff recounted, “While we were shooting, he finished his scenes and assumed I had too. He headed down to his car. Later, he realized and inquired, ‘Where’s Jackie?’ Upon being informed that I was still filming, he retraced his steps. He walked back through a throng of around 500 enthusiastic people who were ecstatic to see him. He returned just to convey, ‘I wanted to bid you goodbye.'”
The actor was deeply moved by Rajinikanth’s gesture. “A person of his eminence, he’s Thalaiva, and his act of coming back solely to bid farewell exemplifies why he’s Thalaiva. His heart mirrors that of his mother,” Shroff further remarked.
Jackie Shroff assumes an antagonistic character in “Jailer,” and his appearance in the movie was recently revealed. Shroff has previously collaborated with Rajinikanth in the 2014 animated action film “Kochadaiiyaan” and the 1987 movie “Uttar Dakshin.” The two actors have maintained their friendship since those times.
“It all began with ‘Uttar Dakshin,’ a movie in which Rajni sir portrayed my younger brother. I came to realize what an amazing person he is – a genuinely down-to-earth individual despite his immense stardom. I truly believe he is the most humble superstar globally. He graced my wedding with his presence, and I can vividly recall that moment from my wedding. He holds a special place in my heart, he’s like family, my kindred spirit. Our connection goes beyond mere meetings; our souls are intertwined,” Shroff affectionately spoke about Rajinikanth.
