Barbie is about to mint $1B

Barbie

The ‘Barbie’ movie has reached a remarkable milestone, grossing $900 million worldwide so far. And it’s only been a few days left to surpass the mighty milestone of one billion dollars. However, despite its success, a sequel remains to be determined. Barbie Filmmaker Greta Gerwig and leading stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are not bound by any contractual obligations to return for a ‘Barbie 2.’

Warner Bros., the studio behind the hit film, now faces a dilemma due to the dual challenges of ongoing writer’s strike. Firstly, securing the return of Gerwig as the director and Robbie and Gosling as the main actors are still being determined, as they have no obligation to reprise their roles. Secondly, negotiations with the stars have reportedly hit a snag, complicating matters further.

The ‘Barbie’ movie’s triumph marks a significant moment in the film industry, as it is rare for a non-franchise film ( Marvel and DC ) to achieve such financial success. However, fans eager for a sequel must wait anxiously until the studio navigates the complexities and secures the commitments needed to bring the beloved doll back to the big screen.

This movie was made an entry in theatres on July 21 Worldwide, along with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which stars Cillian Murphy in the lead role.
