Emma Stone feels lucky for Poor Things’ astonishing 11 Oscar Nominations. Actress Emma Stone spoke on Good Morning America this week to discuss how her most recent film, Poor Things, was nominated for an incredible eleven Oscars. Throughout the conversation, Stone expressed her feelings of fortune and thankfulness for the Academy Award recognition the movie has gotten.

Alison Janney is the director of Poor Things, a film based on the same-titled book by Scottish author Alasdair Gray. It tells the Gothic story of Belle Baxter, who drowns while trying to save her reputation and is brought back to life by a prototypical scientist. Stone plays the independent Belle in Victorian-era Scotland, who becomes caught up in a love triangle with two men. The extravagant production design, costumes, and acting in the movie have garnered positive reviews from critics.

Stone expressed her gratitude and excitement in a recent GMA interview. She said,” Being recognized in so many categories for the film was, in her words, a “honor”. When asked how she was doing, host Robin Roberts got a smile and said, “I feel very lucky.” We’re ecstatic.” Observing the nominations come in one by one, according to her, was “really fun.” Stone expressed gratitude to the Academy for taking into account Poor Things in a variety of domains.”

Poor Things will be available to rent or buy on Prime Video and Apple TV+ in early 2024.
