Elle Fanning has been in Hollywood for so long that she’s at a place now where she feels comfortable sharing the horrible experience that she faced.
She took part in ”Comedy Actress Roundtable” headed by a Hollywood reporter along with Ayo Edebiri [The Bear], Devery Jacobs[Reservation Dogs], Natasha Lyonne[ Poker face], Jenna Ortega[Wednesday], and Sheryl Lee Ralph[Abbott Elementary].
In the Roundtable discussions, she talks about trying to shatter the nice girl image to explore dark and risque roles. She further said, ”There is that, that’s the box. like I don’t have a dark bone on my body. I like it, we found it. Obviously, I was like a sleeping beauty in Maleficent, but I’m cool with that. I like that’s fine, but I think, for a while, I was probably well, most known for that, I mean, or just being a child, known being a child or, in the Disney spectrum being a princess. So I think that’s a box that I feel like a couple of years ago I really was like trying to shatter, personally, I don’t even know what people thought, but I thought this is all they think of me. I do think ”The GREAT”, which is again its blonde royal, but it’s so turned on its head cause it’s so raunchy and violent. we are saying the c-word and every other word. I mean it’s like, still say the c-word.”
She has starred as Catherine in the Hulu period satire drama ”The Great” received critical appreciation from the audience and received nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards.
