The family-friendly Blue Beetle hit the theatres yesterday, and here’s the review talk of the film critics.

An alien scarab chooses college graduate Jamie Reyes to be its symbiotic hos, bestowing the teenager with a stunt of armour capable of extraordinary and unpredicted superpowers, forever changing his destiny. Blue Bettle is the first Latino superhero from the DC comics, as the entire cast and crew, including the director, are from Latino backgrounds.

The film received a positive response for its family dynamic, values, and action sequences. The film has distinct values, Hispanic culture, and family involvement in the story. Wion said Blue Bettle, DC’S first superhero centred around the Latino superhero, is primarily an entertaining, low-stakes romp that is an s refreshing anomaly in an overstuffed genre. News 18 praised Xolo’s performance and said the film is a wholesome superhero movie by DC. The Hindu said the film has a hearty caper that files above formulaic narrative and superhero fatigue.

Social media users praised Xolo’s performances and the family values but criticised the direction for underscoring the title hero, blue beetle. Another social media user said the mocked predicted screenplay and was disappointed in the direction but praised Xolo’s performances.
