The lead cast for Superman Legacy, the much awaited superhero picture directed by James Gunn, has been finalised. In the movie, which stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, famous actor David Corenswet will play Superman, aka Clark Kent. General Zod, another crucial character in the movie, is now being finalised by the director and the DC Studios team. Meanwhile, James Gunn gave some big plot hints in a recent interview with Variety, most notably how Lois Lane will be portrayed in The Superman Legacy.
Director James Gunn revealed some fascinating new information about Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, and her role in the narrative during his interview with Variety. The renowned director claims that Brosnahan’s Lois Lane does not simply play Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman’s love interest, in the movie. Instead, she will play a significant role in how the story develops, from Clark becoming a superhero to coming up with his new persona as Superman.
“I want to tell the best, most unexpected, most affecting narrative I can and one that respects the characters with respect and care. James Gunn said, “I’m good with all of those things as long as it works. And if it ends up being just moving because it’s a wonderful blast of a movie, or if it ends up being moving because you’re sobbing, or it makes you feel that wrath, or whatever it makes you feel.
James Gunn also affirmed that, unlike Henry Cavill’s Superman origin film Man Of Steel, Superman Legacy will not centre on Clark Kent’s conception and early life. The director and his crew have chosen to replicate Robert Pattinson’s 2022 movie The Batman’s production approach, in which the hero is revealed early on in the narrative. The emphasis of Superman Legacy will be primarily on Clark Kent’s relationship with Lois Lane and his work as a journalist for Daily Planet.
