Hollywood-famous actress and American pop singer Lady Gaga just won big in court. A Los Angeles judge ruled again that the singer doesn’t have to pay Jennifer McBride, an accomplice in the February 2021 kidnapping of Gaga’s two dogs, the $500,000 reward offered at the time for returning her French bulldogs.
Oscar-winning singer Lady Gaga’s fans are overwhelmed by the new development and are showing their support for their favorite actress by sharing the actress’s best songs on social media. McBride, an American, had previously filed a lawsuit against Gaga for the reward plus $1.5 million in additional damages. McBride’s attorney had argued that by stating “no questions asked” with the reward offering and failing to pay, Gaga committed a breach of contract, fraud by false promise, and fraud by misrepresentation. However, the judge said the complaint was “legally insufficient in its entirety.” The court noted that since McBride pleaded no contest to knowingly receiving stolen property in connection to the crime back in 2022, she was therefore “not entitled to thereafter benefit from their wrongdoing by seeking to enforce the contract.”.
Lady Gaga will next star in the most anticipated DC Studios sequel film, Joker: Folie a Deux. The film is set to hit theaters on October 4th, 2024.
