Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel is back in the headlines after she was somewhat forgotten by the audience due to her inactivity. Although her presence in the movie is scarce, she’s still being called for interviews and she’s enjoyingly making other revelations about her career.
Despite being screened in blockbuster movies, she’s always remained underrated for an unfair reason. But, when she looks back, she collects who made her famous and how, and shares the same with the internet.
Rakesh Roshan, father of the famous actor known mainly for his dance moves – Hrithik Roshan – is more than just a parental figure. He’s a filmmaker and the trivia fact is that Ameesha Patel surrenders the complete credit of her success and popularity to this one man.
There was a rumour that Rakesh Roshan had decided to cast Ameesha Patel in a movie when they met at a wedding and was barely in the former years of her teenage. She addressed the rumour in The Kapil Sharma Show and elaborated, “That is true but they mentioned this when I was just 14 or 15 years old. He said that he wanted to cast me with Hrithik. My family was not ready and they denied it as we belonged to a political-business background and I was going to Boston for study. But then when I returned from Boston, we were again at a wedding and I was leaving when Rakesh uncle came. At first, he couldn’t recognize me and he asked me and my family said, “This is Ameesha, she just returned from Boston.” In two days I had signed Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’s contract and in a week’s time I was shooting.”
Although majority of the cine-goers remember Ameesha Patel’s face vividly from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, her first movie was under Rakesh Roshan‘s directorial excellence, beside his son Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000. Later, in 2001, she bagged the offer of Gadar and little did she know, it was going to change her life forever.
Gadar 2: The Katha Continues released in August this year after 2 decades of the first instalment and the response hasn’t lessened – rather catapulted. In the first two weeks, the movie was nearing 400 crores and is still working its charm at the box office.
