Akkineni Nageswara Rao: The Akkineni patriarch, widely known as ANR, is one of the two pillars of Telugu Cinema, along with N. T. Rama Rao. He starred in and produced many landmark films in his 75-year career.
Though he has two sons, later, his second son Akkineni Nagarjuna: The actor-producer has carried his legacy and has appeared in over 100 films, predominantly in Telugu, along with a few Hindi and Tamil language films.
However, now as Nagarjuna is at the fag end of his career as a leading man the big question of Akkineni fans is who will carry his legacy.
It is obvious that, though bagged a few decent hits, Naga Chaitanya could not live up to the expectations of the fans of him becoming a mass hero. He got slotted into family and romantic hero roles. Akkineni fans have pinned all their hopes on Akhil to emerge as the future of the Akkineni family. Well, that’s exactly the reason for the frustration of Akkineni fans.
Akhil Akkineni‘s debut film Akhil flopped at the Box Office and had a great effect on its producers as well as fans. As per the recent rules in Film Chamber, Akhil producer has to bear the losses incurred by distributors when huge money is at stake.
Later, his flops streaks continued and it’s after almost six years of struggle Akhil managed to score a decent hit in his acting career by Most Eligible Bachelor. However, he hasn’t realized his full potential up until the release of Most Eligible Bachelor. All of his films were getting off to a good start at the box office but they didn’t necessarily make it big at the box office.
Born to two powerhouse actors, Nagarjuna and Amala, Akhil has acting in his blood. Right from his first movie, he has showcased his talent on screen and has been constantly growing as a performer since then. But the issue is with the scripts he is selecting. As the actor turns one year older today, let us wish him a happy birthday and also hope his upcoming movie ‘Agent’ will give him a much-needed hit. The Agent is the costliest project in Akhil’s career and it is being directed by Surender Reddy who is known for making stylish and sleek action entertainers.
