After Oscar-winning, Popular Bollywood singer talks about North-South debate

There has been a North vs South debate for many days as some regional films are performing better at the ticket counters in comparison to mainstream Hindi films. Singer Vishal joined in on the debate and shared something interesting.

Vishal, who sang Naatu Naatu Hindi version titled Naacho Naacho shared his happiness of seeing the track being appreciated globally. Also, the man shared his views on the ongoing North vs South debate and said how the spirit of Indianness should be celebrated.

Vishal said, “It’s absolutely no north and south and I never believed it. I think people who are enlightened and awakened will never believe this. We just speak different languages. We are Indians and make Indian films. This one is made in Telugu and then translated into Hindi and other languages. Even for instance, the Hindi version of Naatu Naatu has minted a lot of money along with the amount of love it received. It’s a universal feeling,”.

“It’s Indianness that is to be celebrated. You see the sequences and how the film has been made. It speaks about Indian tensions and conflicts. Even in the song, when it is about to start, he says, ‘Do you know Desi nach?’ It’s an Indian feeling and a person like me from Uttar Pradesh can connect with it. I think it’s the Indian films that should be promoted. We should explore Indian culture. We should have more of Indian culture incorporated into our music and, among other things, what we do artistically.” he added.
