Kiran Rao slams Sandeep Vanga
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has become one of the most controversial directors in the film industry. He is a rare director who gets equal hate and love from the audience. Sandeep Vanga’s films, Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal, have all been strongly criticized for their misogynistic portrayals. In a previous interview in 2023, Kiran Rao talked about the glorification of stalking and referred to Kabir Singh and Bahubali as examples. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in a recent interview, answered back to her. After Sandeep’s statement, Kiran Rao slammed the director and answered him.
In a recent interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga took a dig at Kiran Rao’s statement on Kabir Singh. The director mentioned her old statement and said, “Main kehna chahta uss aurat ko ki jaake Aamir Khan ko pucho ki khambe jaisi khadi hai yeh ladki phuljhadi hai, woh kya tha? Then come back to me. If you remember Dil, almost rape attempt tak leke jake usko ehsaas jatata hai ki isne galat kiya aur usko pyaar ho jata hai. Yeh sab kya hai?” (I want to tell that woman: Go and ask Aamir Khan about the song Khambe jaisi khadi hai. What was that? Then come back to me. If you remember Dil, he almost attempts rape and makes her feel like she has done the wrong thing. And then they fall in love. What was all that?)
In an interview, Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao clarified, “I haven’t commented on Mr Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s films because I haven’t seen them. I have spoken on misogyny and the representation of women on screen on various platforms at various times. She added, “If Mr Reddy has something to say to Aamir, he should tell him man to man. I am not responsible for Aamir’s work or Aamir Khan. So, I wish Mr Reddy would address his questions directly to Mr Khan.”
Let’s see if the director has to say anything back to Kiran Rao after her clarification and if this riff will continue further.
