Three-star kids, among other young actors, debuted with the recently released The Archies, helmed by Zoya Akhtar. Other star kids have yet to make their big screen appearance even though their projects are finished with production work.
Launching star kids in Bollywood is usually done by filmmaker Karan Johar despite getting backlash on nepotism. The producer is gearing up to launch a fresh pair in the industry. Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and late actress Sridevi’s youngest daughter, Khushi Kapoor, will soon be seen together for a project.
According to inside sources, Karan Johar plans to do a full-fledged romantic comedy, casting this young upcoming pair as the leads. “It’s one of those romantic comedies for which Hindi Cinema is known. However, Karan and co. Feel that the narrative palette fits better for the OTT than the big screen. It’s planned and will be executed as an OTT original,” said the source.
Revealing further, “It’s being planned as a direct-to-digital project to be produced by his digital wing, Dharmatics. The film will go on floors next year and will be directed by Shauna Gautam. The makers are talking with a leading OTT player for streaming rights,” they disclosed the news. This will be the second film for both the actors, and the film is said to be in the pre-production stage.
