Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer became the highest Tamil grosser of 2023. Jailer which collected around 635 crore rupees at the box office is now all set to premiere in OTT. Jailer will start streaming on Prime Videos on September 7.
The actor who was riding high on the huge success of Jailer is now all set for his next project tentatively titled Thalaivar170. The film is all gearing up to go onto the sets by the end of September. According to sources, Rajinikanth’s upcoming project is getting bigger day by day.
In addition to the star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier in this upcoming project, Rana Daggubati is added to the list. Initially, the buzz was for Sharwanand to act but Rana roped in instead. The makers of the film planned to bring out the best actors from the respective industries leading to a star cast for this film.
Buzz is that Rajinikanth will be seen playing as the cop in the film. Shooting for the film will begin in the third week of September in Chennai with pre-production works going at a super pace in Chennai. Said to be another intense drama by the director, this project is expected to have some intense fight scenes.
Thalaivar170 is directed by TJ Gnanavel and is produced by LYCA Productions. A previous collaboration between the actor and producer for 2point0 became a blockbuster worldwide. The project is slated to be released theatrically in 2024 summer.
