After multiple delays, Sidharth Malhotra has been making headlines. This action thriller, featuring Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani as the leading ladies, hit the screens on Friday, March 15. The film has been off to a slow start with its first-day collections.
On Saturday, the film showed a slight growth. According to box office numbers, Yodha, directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, is expected to make Rs 5.75 crore on day 2. positive word of mouth for the film played its role since the actioner jumped at least 42% on day 2.
A Tough Fight With Shaitaan
While Yodha, released alongside Adah Sharma’s Bastar, the clash has not impacted Sidharth Malhotra’s film. However, it faces resistance from Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan since the horror flick is still going strong after one week of its release.
It can be understood that people’s anticipation for Yodha is low compared with Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, which was released last week and is still going strong at theatres, minting Rs 88 crores at the box office and has already grossed Rs 100 crores worldwide.
Yodha, however, stands at the fifth-highest Bollywood opening in 2024 on its first day, collecting Rs 4.2 crore, with the film recording an overall 13.86% occupancy in Hindi theatres on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Can Yodha Win?
Yodha might pick up pace over the weekend and during the Holi holidays at the box office.
Considering the box office dynamics, Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha has to stay strong over the week, fighting it out with Ajay Devgn, since next week Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon also arrive with their heist film Crew.
