Avantika Vandanapu opens up about trolling

In a recent interview with IMedia Avanthika Vandanapu opens up about trolling, Mean Girls, and her journey to becoming a Hollywood actress.

The actress stated, “I was born and brought up in America, many first-generation Indian natives in America are used to the Indian accent. I or my friends speak in the Indian accent at home because we learned our language or the accent from family, whereas we use the American accent at school as we learned it from our friends in school.”. She further added, “I believe this concept of Code-switching is unfamiliar for the Telugu audience at least as much as I know. People are trolling me for that, and believe I am faking it, I talk like that, that is my natural accent, I talk like that. Then how am I supposed to talk, should I talk in Telugu in the interview being taken by a Hollywood reporter.”, stated Avanthika clearly.

Avanthika also shared that it is sad that people are trolling her for her accent which is a part of her identity. The actress also shared that Mean Girls was the last project she signed but the team wrapped the filming quickly and accurately.

Avanthika Vandanapu is known for her TV commercials and films as a child artist. The actress first appeared in Brahmotsavam and went on to work in different languages. She last appeared in Mean Girls, and her recent project Big Girls Don’t Cry is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. On the work front her global theatrical release film, Tarot a horror film, is reportedly going to release this summer.
