Ghar Choola, a Gujarati and Rajasthani tradition, symbolises acceptance from the bride’s in-laws and is widely practised by most Marwaris and Gujaratis; the Aisha actress shares an endearing click and attempts to interact with her followers, “Wearing my mom’s 35 year old gharchola.. Thanks mama for lending me this sari and blouse, love raiding your closet.. Do you know what a gharchola is and the significance of it? Would love to know your answers in the comment section.”, wrote the actress.

A user stated, “Ghar chola is gifted by the mother in law to the bride after her 3rd phera. This is a sign of acceptance and warm welcome untie the family. Gujju weddings have 4 pheras, the first three are where the men from the bride’s side of the family bless them (I can’t get the exact word, but they give you wheat that you pour into the havan), namely kaka, mama and bhai. Then the ghar chola is given and the 4th phera is blessed by the groom’s father. A lot of Gujju brides opt to wear the ghar chola along with their wedding outfit (chunari panetar) but a lot of them chose to keep it for special occasions. Post shaadi, the ghar chola also is wedding uniform for married women for Ganesh pooja that happens before the wedding ceremony.” , enlightening masses about what the tradition and ritual signify.
