Story:

Destined With You is a story connected by a book—not just a normal book but a mysterious one. Jo Bo Ah plays the role of the protagonist, Lee Hong Jo, while Rowoon plays the leading man’s character, Jang Shin Yu, a cold and successful lawyer. While Jang Shin Yu is cursed to die at a very young age, Lee Hong Jo is the only person who has the ability to save him. Will she save him? Are they connected in a tragic way in the past? All these secrets unfold in each episode.

Analysis:

Episode 1 starts off with giving a serious impression, where the protagonist gets introduced. A young, hard-working lady, Lee Hong Jo, works without complaints and is a government employee. Hong Joo gets transferred to another department in another city for her good work. She soon becomes an outcast at work due to one of her past acquaintances. How she deals with it might trigger a few viewers; if laughed off as office abuse, then it could be a fun ride for a few viewers. Lee Hong Jo and Jang Shin Yu meet during this vulnerable time for the protagonist, and fortunately or unfortunately for the protagonist, the leading man becomes an annoying savior. Jang Shin’s (Rowoon’s) entry scene is a gothic entry, filled with dark secrets. By the end, Lee receives a present which plays a crucial role in bringing the leads together. The lead story is the same as every other romance drama, but the new story will keep the audience engaged. The leads did a great job in their respective roles but the story is yet to be developed.

Episode 2 portrays Jang as the coldest and most protective person as he defends his girlfriend by accusing Lee Hong-Jo of being a person who plays the victim card all the time. In the previous episode, Jang appears like a considerate person, but his rage makes him the coldest and stubborn blockhead. Apparently, Jang’s cold side cracks up the audience through light-hearted comedy. The  0% failed cases lawyer appears to have 100% interest in the gift he presented Lee as his grandmother insisted. The book finds the owner, and as Lee struggles to open it, Jang tries to stay in touch with her as his curiosity fascinates him, to know what it is. The ill-fated relationship might have a lot to add to it, maybe the book of the Great Witch could unfold what got them together in this life.  While Lee is fascinated by building better relationships with her teammates, she gets swayed by one of her superiors, but the excitement doesn’t last long as he rejects her in no time. The spell book has a solution for Lee to woo her senior. Will the spell work? Will she get what she wants? What is in store for her? And most importantly will Jang’s request be accepted?

The upcoming episodes will speak to these questions.
