Yash revealed that he will be co-producing Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, disclosing insights about the project.

Actor Yash’s Monster Mind Creations and Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios have partnered to co-produce Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

While the narrative has been adapted for film multiple times over the years, Yash explained to Variety why he chose to co-produce the production.

Yash recognizes that the Ramayana story is “woven into the fabric of our lives,” but he believes there is something new to explore depending on the filmmaker’s perspective.

He also notes that while the objective is to create a visual extravaganza that the world can enjoy, they want to stay loyal to the tale and emotions it entails.

“We believe we understand the Ramayana well, but each time it reveals new wisdom, sparks new knowledge, and provides distinct insights. Our objective is to bring this timeless epic to the big screen. It will be a magnificent spectacle worthy of its grandeur, but at its heart, it will be an honest and authentic depiction of the stories, emotions, and ideals we cherish. “This is a journey to share the Ramayana with the world,” he explained.

Yash further told the publication that it has been a long-term desire of his to support films that’showcase Indian cinema on a worldwide level’. While in Los Angeles, he met Namit, discovered someone with similar ideas, and began working on Ramayana.

The actor also stated that he wants to co-produce the production because the subject matter spoke to him emotionally.

“The Ramayana is a subject that profoundly connects with me, and I had an approach in mind for it. “By collaborating to co-produce Ramayana, we are bringing together our collective vision and experience to create an Indian film that will elicit excitement and passion in audiences around the world,” he said.

The filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement about the project or reveal its cast and crew.

Film’s  ensemble cast include Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

Ranbir has already started training for the project, focusing on working out and shedding the weight he gained during Animal.
