With the failure of Agent, Akhil has returned the remuneration he received

Akhil Akkineni’s recent movie, Agent has seen a lackluster week at the box office. The movie was a disappointment to the fans and the makers as it failed to woo the audience. The movie hit rock-bottom and ended up earning only 10 crores in it’s first week. Negative reviews for the film poured in after it’s release from audiences and critics alike.

According to some reports, the lead actor has returned the remuneration he received for the movie. He had received 15-20 crores for Agent and allegedly has given back about 75% of the money. After a series of failures, Akhil had pinned his hopes on Agent to deliver a blockbuster. He went through enormous amount of preparation for the movie but unfortunately, the action-packed flick failed to impress at the box office. Even a star like Mammootty couldn’t save the disastrous film.

The movie was directed by Surender Reddy and written by Vakkantham Vamsi. Following the movie’s release and it’s negative feedback, producer Anil Sunkara acknowledged and apologized for the film’s commercial failure. The movie is set to be out on OTT platforms soon as the makers have decided it is better to release it on the digital platform as quickly as possible.

Akhil headed off to Dubai to recuperate after the film bombed. He is set to take a long break so as to re-energize himself after Agent’s failure.
