The box office failure of Liger does not seem to have much effect on the marketability of Vijay Deverakonda. A rowdy actor is currently shooting his upcoming Telugu film Kushi, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. With just a few weeks of shoot left, the Shiva Nirvana directorial has already earned around ₹95 crores from non-theatrical business, per trade sources.
Meanwhile, the actor, already in the clothes business, has now become a co-owner of the Hyderabad Black Hawks, one of India’s top professional volleyball teams and the sole representative of the Telugu states. He is also a brand ambassador for the Black Hawks, with a motto to take the team beyond the league matches and bring it before a global audience.
The official announcement was made in a recent media interaction, and the star was seen with the team in the stadium, donning their jersey.
Talking about the same, Mr Abhishek Reddy Kankanala, the principal owner of the Black Hawks, said, “We are excited to have Vijay joining us, both as a co-owner and a brand ambassador. He brings a new perspective into the mix that can push our brand to the next level and advance our organization, a massive step towards achieving our vision as THE team that represents the spirit and culture of Telugu people across the world.
