This is the first highest grossing Punjabi movie in India

Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa are the charm of Punjabi industry. Like the South Indian cinema industry is known for its action sequences and Mollywood is known for creating content of real-world issues, Punjabi industry pockets the credit of comedy. The delivery and script both in Punjabi movies have always been phenomenal. Even when the main theme is not comedy, Punjabi movies are incomplete without some humour pushed in here and there.

Carry On Jatta is Gippy and Sonam’s romantic comedy that was first released in 2012. Massing great success, it got a part 2 and recently a part 3. IMDb rates this movie 8.9 stars, which is considered top-class in cinema. Consequently, the audience, too, has showered equal amounts of appreciation and money on the movie’s arrival.

Carry On Jatta 3 is setting new standards for the Punjabi industry. On Thursday, it became the highest grossing Punjabi film worldwide. Like we know, numerous Punjabis reside in Canada, USA and the UK, boosting its box office collection. Today, it took over the same title in India too, grossing at Rs. 42.50 crores. On Monday, it crossed the 1 million mark in Australia. By the next weekend, it is estimated to touch 5 million.

Carry On Jatta 3 is a twisted love story where Jass and Meet are in love but because of the dispute between Jass and his brothers, Jass’s father refuses to meet Meet. He then approached his friend Goldy. Their plan is to make Jass’s father hate Diljit (Goldy’s wife) so much that the hate he has for Meet dusts down, in turn making Meet the charm of his eyes. What happens next is a proof that humans make plans but fate can’t be rewritten.
