This Bollywood diva says the industry focuses on how actors look.

During a recent round table, Kareena Kapoor Khan spoke about breaking free from focusing on her looks and paying attention to her acting. She said ‘I don’t care if my lines are showing’;  the industry focuses on how actors look.

With Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan, Kareena Kapoor Khan stepped into the world of OTT after dominating the film industry. During The Film Companion Actors’ Adda 2023, the actress shared about shooting a scene in which the camera was very close to her face and constantly moving around her.

This is when she was asked how difficult it was for her to let go of her vanity of looking good and focus solely on her acting. In response, the actress stated that the industry has forced her to focus on her appearance for the past two decades. She has, however, always attempted to distance herself from that fact. “First and foremost, I want to be an actor.” “This has been the case since my first film,” she explained.

“I am confident in the way I look,” the Veere Di Wedding actress continued. I don’t mind if my lines are visible because that’s just how I am. I work as an actor. Can you see past that? That’s always been a struggle for me. “I wanted them to look beyond that,” she said, adding that it has always been about wanting to prove herself as an actor since her film Refugee. “The star part was very incidental, and I’ve done films for that.” But that is no longer the case,” she concluded.
