Vetrimaraan reveals that Vidhuthalai was made into two parts because of this reason!

Tamil critically acclaimed director Vetrimaraan got candid in a recent conversation in the film’s companion round Table Director Adda 2023 revealed that he had to release Viduthalai into two parts because of a lack of resources.

Vetrimaraan candidly spilt beans about the hustle of shooting Vidhutalai. He said that a novel inspires Vidhutalai, and he wanted to include Suri in that story, so he changed the story several times for Suri to fit in. He said Vidhitalai had minimal resources, and shooting was delayed several times due to a lack of budget and resources and restrictions.

He said he and the producer were confident only after Vijay Sethupathi started shooting so they could sell the film for more numbers. He said the climax action sequence was supposed to be a simple scene but became an intense action sequence that required a colossal budget. He said he didn’t have any clue about the film’s budget. The film’s budget was out of limits, so he and the producer decided to release the movie in two parts.

He also revealed that he was ready to send Vidhuthalai to film festivals, but he felt something was missing for the theatre and decided to shoot for another 10 days. The film is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2024.
