Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and Kollywood ace director had some ago teamed up for remake of Anniyan (starrer Vikram) which released in 2005. But the project didnt go on to sets.
A buzz is roaming the social media that Shankar plans to direct Ranveer in a trilogy based on the Tamil epic novel Velpari. It could be in three installments. The films will be released in multiple languages to help them reach a wide audience.
Ranveer was last seen in the commercially unsuccessful Jayeshbhai Jordaar, to star in Shankar’s big screen adaptation of the Tamil novel Velpari. The franchise will feature three parts. The first instalment is expected to go on floors in 2023. It will consist of everything including a heart-touching love story and magnificent visual-effect sequences.
On the professional front, Ranveer has other films in his line-up include Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. Shankar on the other hand would have 2 films to release next year, Indian 2 and RC 15. Once both sets free from on going projects, would team up for this epic mamoth film adaption.
