Shahid and Pooja: Remake of 2010 ‘Mumbai Police’

According to a report, Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde are going to work in a ten-year-old Malayalam remake ‘Mumbai Police’.

It is now reported that Shahid and Pooja Hegde are going to work in a ten-year-old Malayalam remake. The name of this Malayalam movie is Mumbai Police. Experts believe that the film may have surprised the audience ten years ago, but now its subject matter has become old. The story of the movie revolves around how a Police Officer met with an accident which leads him to suffer partial memory loss while working on a murder case of a fellow Officer who is also his friend. So remaking it in 2023 is not a very exciting idea. The special thing is that recently the Telugu remake of Mumbai Police, Hunt (2023) has become a super flop. Sudheer Babu was in the lead role in the film. In such a situation, people are now thinking about who are the advisors of these Bollywood stars, who are giving them ideas for the release of such old and flop films.

Barring three-four films, Shahid Kapoor’s career has been in shambles. In recent years, Kabir Singh definitely strengthened him a bit, but after the Jersey flop, he is again in search of success. It seems from the selection of his films that he is more dependent on remakes than original stories. On the other hand, Pooja’s last two films with Ranveer and Salman were flops that were also remakes. Last year’s flop Circus starring Ranveer and Pooja was a remake of Gulzar’s Angoor. While ‘Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, which flopped with Salman this Eid, was a remake of South’s Veeram. But Pooja has signed another remake film, in which she will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor. Interestingly, Shahid’s latest box office release Jersey was also a remake of South’s film of the same name. Shahid’s film was a flop.
