Robert Downey Jr. reacted to Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s Oscar snub. He is calling out the lack of awards recognition for “Barbie” lead actress Margot Robbie.
In a recent conversation, the Ironman actor said Margot Robbie isn’t getting enough credit for making and leading the Barbie to Billion dollars. Barbie was helmed by Greta Gerwig and starred and produced by Margot Robbie with an estimated budget of $128–145 million and grossed $1.446 billion.
Robert Downey Jr was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performances in the biographical film Oppenheimer, the film was also nominated in a total of 11 categories including Best Director and Best Film at the 96th Acadamy Awards.
The fantasy comedy film Barbie received eight Oscar nominations including Best Picture but Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig weren’t nominated for Best Actress and Best Director respectively. The two women who were solely responsible for the Barbie’s ‘ dollars success were sunbed by the Academy Awards.
