Hollywood has produced many stars from many walks of life. Some came from shattered families, while others battled drug addiction. One of them is Robert Downey, Jr. Downey, one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors, did not simply play a superhero and achieve overnight popularity. He nearly lost everything due to his drug addiction, including his family, friends, work, and money. Going through rehab, slipping down, and sobbing up cost him everything he had in order to break free from addiction.

The actor, who struggled with drug addiction for years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, stated, “I believe that developing a moral psychology makes things much simpler. And I think it’s difficult to explain some behaviors when there are solutions to recover. So I have a lot of empathy for, but I’m also dubious of anyone who doesn’t consider what they can do to strengthen their compass. “That is all.”

During his acceptance speech, the actor humorously thanked his ‘bad childhood’ for the prize, which he received for the first time after receiving two previous nominations. Robert has previously received nominations for best actor in 1993 for Chaplin and best supporting actor in 2009 for Tropic Thunder.
