RJ Balaji reveals that he ‘felt bad’ that people enjoyed Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s action film Animal

In an interview with Indiaglitz, actor RJ Balaji, who was most recently seen in Run Baby Run, discussed feminism and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. In response to a question concerning his thoughts on feminism in movies, he brought up the example of the most recent film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, stating that he would much rather not have such scenes in his movies.

He began by acknowledging that although he had not seen Animal, he had heard the conversation surrounding it. He continued, “I feel bad that the audience is enjoying such films. I know everyone likes to say ‘watch the movie like a movie and treat it as a craft,’ but it stuck with me that a set of people locked in a theater were enjoying a guy mistreating women and hurling abuses at them.” It’s not typical, in my opinion, to respond positively to such scenes.

He went on to say that just because the public seems to enjoy certain scenes, he doesn’t want to be persuaded to keep them in his movie either. “I want to avoid watching and being swayed to repeat similar scenes. I’ve heard that in one scene, Ranbir asks Tripptii Dimri, another actor, to lick his shoe. I think the movie will make young people believe that treating women this way is acceptable. “I wish my movies didn’t contribute to that,” he declared.
