Producers Eyeing Tamil Dubs Again!

Telugu Industry used to be a heavy dumping place for Tamil dubbings films until a few years ago. No matter who the hero is, the producers used to buy Tamil films for a less price. As movies like Aparichitudu, Chandramukhi, and Bichagadu had brought heaps of profits, Telugu producers bought many Tamil films and dubbed them into Tollywood hoping they can earn some bucks by chance. Not many did better in this regard. It’s funny that sometimes the remake movies of Telugu were dubbed again into Telugu. After some good movies from Telugu film Industry and the TFI’s raise to the pan-Indian level, the number of dubs reduced considerably.

Now, Kamal Hassan’s Vikram’s blockbuster success once again triggered the producers’ hopes for Tamil dubbing movies. Actor Nithin’s father Sudhakar Reddy bought Vikram in association with Tagore Madhu and a few others. The movie rained profits for them. According to the trade sources, there were no buyers for the film and it was bought for a very reasonable price. Now, the other producers are following this suit and looking to buy upcoming crazy movies in Kollywood. Karthi’s Sardar, Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra, Rajinikanth’s Jailer and other movies which might do well in the current trend of Telugu films are on the producers’ wish list. Will the trend of Vikram movie will continue for the other films or is it just a flash in the pan? That, we have to wait and see.
