Lady Powerstar Sai Pallavi’s next and currently the only movie is Gargi. The makers have announced today that the movie will be released on July 15th. This is a surprising announcement both for the Tollywood circles and film buffs as well. Her recent project, Virataparvam which was released on the 17th of June has become a disaster at the box office from a collections point of view. The makers have seen huge losses. Now, when that impact is still persisting, the Gargi makers’ hurry to release the film in July itself is baffling, says the observers. Gargi is a tri-lingual movie. Promoting a movie in a single language is itself a painstaking task. How can the movie team promote the film in three languages in 12 days’ time is the question that needs to be answered.
Moreover, many of the audience didn’t even hear about the movie Gargi till now except for vigorous movie buffs. How can Sai Pallavi and co pull the audience to the theatres? Even if we suppose that the movie was fantastic and there is good word of mouth, still there are challenges with the films that will be released around Gargi. July is completely packed up with more than 6 hyped-up films. July 14 will see the release of Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior. Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 and Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You will be out one week after Ram. Even if one of these movies gets positive talk, then Gargi might be in the soup. Being a heroine-centric film and with almost zero promotions, it’s a very tough time ahead for Gargi. Starring Sai Pallavi in the lead role, Gowtham Ramachandra directed this film.
