Prabhas ‘Grateful for the loyalty of fans’! Deets inside

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Prabhas says, “The Salaar sequel will push the boundaries and we cannot wait to deliver it to the audience.”

For Prabhas, 2015 was a transformative year as the SS Rajamouli-helmed Bahubali elevated him to national prominence. With the release of Bahubali 2 in 2017, he increased his fan base in the North Indian market. Prabhas has starred in six films in the last eight years: Bahubali, Bahubali 2, Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush. Five of those films have achieved a century in the Hindi box office, indicating that the Hindi-speaking public also loves Prabhas.

With Salaar, his most recent release, turning out to be the actor’s second-highest-grossing film after Bahubali 2, he has every reason to be happy right now. In a recent conversation, Prabhas talked candidly about his collaborations with SS Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel. “Working with SS Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel has been an enriching experience,” the actor remarks. Both directors have a rigorous approach to filmmaking and an unwavering dedication to storytelling. Grand visuals and gripping stories are what unite Salaar and Bahubali even though their storytelling styles are very different from one another.

Prabhas is adamant that he is excited to travel to Salaar 2 with Prashanth Neel shortly. “With new character facets added in Salaar 2, the audience can expect the continuation of the compelling and intense plot. We are eager to present the audience with the sequel, which will push the envelope,” he says. When does the follow-up, though, hit theaters? “We are currently in the planning stages of the shooting schedule. He doesn’t say much more than, “The story is ready, so hopefully you will get the date soon.”
