Pakistani actress Hania Aamir took to her social media to slam Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter without taking its name.
Hania Aamir wrote on her Instagram story, “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium. Distasteful; let art breathe.”
In response to the critique, Fighter director Siddharth Anand raised an eyebrow, questioning why Pakistani celebrities turn a blind eye to anti-India themes in their films.
The Pakistani actress’s comments on Fighter have led to debate on the internet as she starred in an Indian Air Force movie, Parwaaz Hai Junoon.
