NTR’s birth anniversary declared ‘Telugu Heritage Day’ in Frisco, Texas

The nation marks the 100th birth anniversary of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on May 28, 2023. The celebrations for the anniversary have been in full swing for the past few days. 

On account of the occasion, Frisco, a city in Texas has declared the day ‘Telugu Heritage Day’ to honor the legendary actor and politician. In the proclamation that is being circulated online, the mayor of the city of Frisco, Jeff Cheney celebrated the Telugu people. The proclamation talked about the Telugu people and their success in fields of all kinds worldwide.

NTR fostered a sense of pride and self-esteem within the Telugu community during times of discrimination within the country. The Frisco administration felt a strong need to honor the man on his 100th birth anniversary as Telugu people all over the world remember him. This marks an incredible milestone for the Telugu people as we carry forward our culture and legacy.  

NTR entered this world on May 28, 1923, and went on to become the pride of the Telugu people. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred to by the media as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma meaning Universally renowned star of acting. He was not only a splendid actor, but also the people’s leader. He founded the Telugu Desam Party and served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards, a Nandi award, and a Padma Shri.
