No one takes a stand for Ram?

The film Adhipurush has been a bit of a roller coaster ride since the release of its teaser, the corrected trailer, the release of the movie, and the release of the corrected movie with better dialogues, it has been a turbulent ride. Though some credit should be given to the team for trying to salvage the film the best they can and responding gracefully to all criticism. In regards to the financial performance of the film, it opened strong and quickly fell flat bombarded with controversies, bans, and bad reviews. Post the weekend, box office collections have dropped drastically with the film barely inching towards the break-even mark. On its first Monday, the film’s box office collection saw a drop of more than 70 percent. From there the drop has been worse and on day 9, it earned only approximately Rs 5 crore across all languages and this is after the film cut its ticket prices down to about half, to target more audience.  Not even Prabhas’ pan-Indian fame or a change of dialogues could save this movie from the box office deathbed!

The film’s promotions were extravagant with even a popular national party showing the film its support. It will also make the books for having a “guru”, by the name of ‘Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’ show up for a promotional event, truly a one-of-a-kind situation. The film received support from many spiritual, political, and learned people before its release. it should be noted that since the nightmare of trolls began, post the movie’s release, none of these people have come forward to stand for the cinema.

Looks like the poor movie’s cast, crew, and most importantly producers are going to have to fend for themselves. With the film’s actors moving on to their next projects and putting this disaster behind them it is truly the producers that are left to survive the worst of the storm!
