After the Telugu film Godfather, Lady Superstar Nayantara had hit the silver screens with Malayalam film Gold. Directed by Premam fame Alphonse Puthren, the film was released amidst high expectations. The film is a crime comedy starring Prithviraj in the lead role.
The director has almost 7 years to come up with this flick and the movie was released on this Friday. But surprisingly, the film’s box office performance is a bit worrying.
The movie started on a big note and as per the sources, the film collected 5.5 crores on the very first day. But surprisingly, the film went totally down on the second day because of the miserable content and negative talk from the audience. The film has bagged only 1.5 crores revenue, which is a massive drop from day 1. With this the film is heading towards a disaster.
Many are pointing out that even the film’s poor promotions are the reason for the film’s failure. Whatever the reason is, it is heard that if the same continues, this film would stand as one of the biggest disasters in Nayantara recent films.
