It is well known that one of the celebrity couples in Tollywood, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya parted their ways after 3 years of marriage. Ever since the divorce, fans of both celebrities started comparing their films. Recently, Samantha’s starrer ‘Shakuntalam’ got released and bombed at the box office.
Now, Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Custody’ also got released yesterday and has been receiving mixed responses from the audience. Now the fans of the celebrities have started comparing the collections of these two movies.
The opening day collections of ‘Custody’ are less than Samantha starrer ‘Shakuntalam’. ‘Custody’ opened with a 1.82 crores share collection and 3.20 crores gross collection in the duo Telugu States. Adding the rest of India, overseas and the collections of the Tamil version as well, the movie recorded 2.62 crores of share collection and 4.85 gross collections at the box office. The theatrical rights of the movie got sold for Rs. 24.05 crores and the movie still has to collect 22.38 crores to reach the break-even point.
On the other hand, Samantha’s ‘Shakunthalam’ despite ending up as a disaster opened with a decent collection of 2.94 crores of share collections at the box office. Considering the opening day collections, the fans are now claiming that Naga Chaitanya’s craze is nothing when compared to Samantha’s.
