Lokesh Kanagaraj confirms this about Rolex….
All the audience knew who Rolex was and Suriya received immense love for his performance after the film was out. Rolex played an important role in the success of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram film.
The mastermind behind this character and the film is filmmaker Lokesh Kanagraj. The Leo director has always been candid about his thoughts regarding films and how he wants to project his cinema craft to the audience. The director said he wants to do a standalone with Rolex characterization.
Talking about the role of Rolex and how the Kanguva actor was boarded for this character, Lokesh said, ” When I wrote the story, I wanted a powerful villain and it was a good time that Suriya accepted the role.
The director further says that he thought Suriya wouldn’t do the role but still went to narrate the story and he called the next day saying he’d do the role. The actor confessed that he actually called Lokesh to reject the offer but wanted to try so let’s just do it.
Lokesh says that Suriya has elevated the character Rolex to the next level making the role very famous among the audience. So, the maker wants to do a standalone movie with Rolex characterization after completing his committed projects Kaithi 2 with Karthi, Thalaivar 171, and Vikram 2.
