Satyaprem Ki Katha is a recently released movie starring current cinema sensations Karthik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. Photos from Kiara and Karthik’s wedding scene and songs from the movie were going viral before it hit the theatres. Though the script is pretty basic, the unexpected twist sustains the interest of the watchers.
Satyaprem with the nickname Sattu is a goofy, forever-grinning boy who doesn’t have an achiever personality per se. But, his heart functions like anyone else’s. Katha, the daughter of a rich businessman catches Sattu’s eye and he falls in love with her. Now, of course, he’s a little stupid but not delusional. He knows Katha is way out of his league. But, his fate pities him and one fine day, Katha’s family herself lands at his house to give her hand to Sattu. After the knot is tied, Sattu brings it on to him to make the girl of his dreams fall in love with him. In the quest of doing so, he discovers who he truly is and also successfully proves his worthiness as a husband.
Coming to the monetary aspect, the film earned ₹2 crore on Monday at the domestic box office, on the 12th day of its release. Finally, it has grossed a total of ₹100 crore worldwide. On this special day, Karthik Aaryan posted on his Instagram with the caption, “Thank you for 100 cr ka Love. #SatyaPremKiKatha.” with a poster of their movie, wedded couple Sattu and Katha holding hands in the center.
The entire movie team is busy celebrating this success. About the lead, this is Kiara and Karthik’s 2nd consecutive movie together, first Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, now Satyaprem Ki Katha, both of which are superhits. This reel-life duo is turning into a wildfire!
