On Thursday, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan likened his upcoming film “Jawan” to the “new Chennai Express,” commemorating the decade since the movie’s release. Shah Rukh revealed a fresh poster of “Jawan,” now rebranded as “X,” featuring himself, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi. He also engaged in an #AskSRK session on Twitter.

Responding to a fan’s query about the screening of “Chennai Express” in 50 cities by his fan club for its 10th anniversary, Shah Rukh expressed his delightful experience working on a romantic comedy.

In the 2013 film directed by Rohit Shetty, Shah Rukh Khan portrayed Rahul, a character who embarks on a journey to Rameshwaram via the Chennai Express to immerse in his late grandfather’s ashes. However, his plans take an unexpected turn when he assists Meenamma, essayed by Deepika Padukone and her cousins, in boarding the train, subsequently landing in a series of troublesome situations.

Per the film’s preview, Shah Rukh’s character is supported by a group of women in his mission in the movie “Jawan.” The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra in essential roles.

When asked if “Jawan” carries a message, he responded, “The film strongly promotes women’s empowerment—how to respect and stand by them.” Through this film, the actor aims to establish a special place in the hearts of his fans in the southern region.
